About Meridian support for Novell NetWare

In a Novell NetWare network, NetWare Directory Services (NDS) manages user authentication and network resources. However, user authentication to Meridian vaults is still performed by a Windows server. Therefore, users must have valid accounts on both NDS and Windows unless you create a link between NDS and Windows for easy administration of both platforms. Both Microsoft and Novell offer tools to integrate each other directory services into their own network.

If you decide to make your Meridian application server a domain controller in this configuration, Novell Account Manager should be installed on the Meridian application server. If you will be running Meridian on a member server, joining the managed domain is enough.
